About this Restaurant
About Huong Duong – Sunflower
Duy Tran and his parents opened Huong Duong (also known as “Sunflower” in English), in February of 2013 right across from the Othello Light Rail Station. At Huong Duong, you’ll find fresh Vietnamese food ranging from a hot bowl of chicken pho to Vietnamese crepes with shrimp and tofu to eggplant hot pot to a variety of delicious stir-fry dishes and more! Inviting and amiable, the restaurant is conveniently located at the Othello Light Rail Station, on the east side of MLK.
According to one Yelp reviewer, “Huong Duong has some of the best Pho in the city, bar-none. Great on the noodle to meat ratio, friendly service and plenty of options. I’ve come a few times, and other friends have ordered the duck soup, some sort of short ribs- and it has all been above satisfactory! The price is right, the place is clean and super friendly. If you’re in the hood and hungry–do yourself a favor and stop in!”
Huong Duong on Plate of Nations
Last year, Huong Duong saw a 10% increase in business during Plate of Nations. Duy felt that the restaurant benefitted from good advertising around the event, and has seen business increase steadily since then.
Maybe this Plate of Nations guest has hit upon one of the reasons, “The pho is worth the trip!”
