About this Restaurant
It’s not hard to recognize why Business Insider named Tacos Chukis as having one of the 50 best Tacos in America, but after biting into one of the restaurant’s offerings complimented with pollo asado it’ll leave you scratching your head as to why they didn’t rank number one!
Its owner, Roberto Salmerón started Tacos Chukis after graduating from the University of Washington and setting out to pedal 1,200 miles by bicycle from Seattle to Tijuana to visit family. The trip reminded him of the street tacos he enjoyed as a child and he decided to bring the unique taste back to Seattle.
Tacos Chukis’ Beacon Hill location is its third taco shop and offers an entire menu as tasty as it is affordable.
It’s the “simple down to earth Mexican food” that has made the restaurant a success according to Salmerón.
That menu, which includes baby burritos and quesadillas as tasty as its tacos, is his proud contribution to this year’s Plate of Nations.
“I can’t wait to try all of the participating restaurants! I loved the idea.”
